Best practices for the Prevention of Youth Violence and Delinquancy

A desk research

This research addresses a selection of practices that worked well in reducing the number of children entering in conflict with the law and committing violence. These practices were considered important and worthy of being explored in more detail for the benefit of Tdh’s juvenile justice programs or other child protection programs. There are seven promising practices suggested by the paper which are parenting programs, structured psychosocial activities (SPA), mentoring programs, vocational training, restorative justice, restorative practices, and awareness campaigns. The details of each practice including general objective, risk factors, target group, and strategy are presented.
